Is the Toyota RAV4 2.2 diesel reliable?
We could confirm one known issue: injector failures covered by a Toyota service bulletin.
The bulletin describes injector failures that cause a loss of engine power and the engine warning light, with fault code P062D stored. The fix is replacing the faulty injectors.
Toyota says it has since improved how the injectors are made. Ask the seller whether any injectors have been replaced.
Reviewers found the diesel punchy and economical, but noisy around town.
